Cookie and local storage notice
Effective 22 September 2026. Kijoli currently uses a local browser preference called cookieChoice to remember whether a visitor selected Accept or Reject on the consent banner. It does not contain an identity, wallet address, or message content.
1. Essential preference
The preference remains in the browser until removed or cleared by the visitor. It helps prevent the banner from appearing after a choice. It is not sent to Kijoli as an account credential and does not track activity across unrelated sites.
2. Optional analytics
Kijoli does not activate optional analytics without describing the provider, purpose, data categories, and lifespan. If introduced, visitors will be able to reject it without losing access to editorial pages. Any analytics report will be aggregated where practical.
3. Browser controls
Browsers allow visitors to clear local storage, block storage, or receive prompts. Blocking the preference may cause the banner to return. These controls do not delete a contact message already submitted; deletion requests are handled under the Privacy Policy.
4. Updates
We will update this notice when the storage practice changes. The current version is dated 22 September 2026 and will be reviewed by 22 September 2027. Questions may be sent to Kijoli, 330 Dosan-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, 06040, Republic of Korea.
5. Contact
For cookie questions, use contact.php or phone +82 (0)2 6178 9032. We aim to explain a technical setting in plain language and will record material corrections. No cookie decision is required to read the public archive.
6. Third parties
Linked websites may set their own cookies after a visitor leaves Kijoli. Their practices are outside our control. Review their notices before using an embedded or linked service. Kijoli does not sell browsing information.
7. International processing
If a future analytics or hosting provider processes technical information abroad, Kijoli will assess its contractual and security safeguards. The relevant provider and purpose will be named in a revised notice. Processing will remain limited to the stated purpose.
8. Retention
The local choice remains until the visitor clears it. Technical logs connected to cookie delivery, where collected, are generally retained for up to 90 days. Contact records follow the 24-month retention period described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Consent
Accepting permits the optional category described on the banner; rejecting records the opposite preference. Neither choice grants permission to use a contact message for advertising. A visitor can change the browser setting by clearing local storage.
10. Revision log
22 September 2026: notice published with essential local preference only. 22 September 2027: scheduled review. Earlier review will occur if analytics, embedded media, or advertising technology is introduced.
Storage details in plain language
The current preference is named cookieChoice and records only a consent selection such as Accept or Reject. A visitor will be offered a meaningful reject option, and refusal will not remove access to ordinary editorial content. Any reporting will be limited to site measurement and reviewed for unnecessary collection.
Common browser controls include clearing site data, blocking local storage, using private browsing, and reviewing permissions in the browser settings. These controls vary by device and may cause the consent banner or display preferences to return. They do not erase a message already delivered through a contact form. For deletion of correspondence, use the Privacy Policy contact route.
Third-party destinations may set their own cookies after a visitor follows a link, opens an external document, or uses a service outside Kijoli. Kijoli does not control those lifespans or purposes. Embedded content, if introduced, will be reviewed before publication and described where it can read or write browser storage. Visitors should consult the destination’s notice before continuing.

Further storage detail
The cookieChoice preference is a browser-side record used only to remember a consent response. It may remain for up to 12 months, although clearing site data, changing browsers, using a separate device, or browsing privately can cause the banner to appear again. It does not identify a person and is not treated as an account credential. A visitor can change the choice by clearing the preference or contacting Kijoli about the current control.
Kijoli does not currently activate optional analytics, advertising pixels, cross-site identifiers, or fingerprinting for the public archive. If a measurement service is introduced, the notice will name the provider, purpose, category, host domain, lifespan, and withdrawal method before the setting is used. A session cookie, if ever required for a specific form or security function, would expire when the session ends or within the stated short period. It would not be used to infer a reader’s financial or personal circumstances.
Browser controls are practical but differ between Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, mobile browsers, and assistive browsing tools. Blocking local storage can affect only the persistence of the banner choice; it should not prevent access to ordinary articles. Deleting browser storage does not delete a contact message already delivered to Kijoli. A deletion request for correspondence should be made under the Privacy Policy.
External links and embedded services may create their own records after a visitor leaves Kijoli. The external operator decides whether those records are session, preference, analytics, or other storage and controls the relevant lifespan. Kijoli does not receive an external cookie value merely because a link is present. Visitors should read the destination notice before submitting information or enabling an external player.
